Detailed Itinerary
Welcome to Tanzania. When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Mangokili Adventures driver will meet you and take you to your lodge. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please: rest in your room, swim in the pool, or take one of our day tours to see Arusha and the area around it.
Overnight: Arusha Planet Lodge or Forest Hill Hotel
You will drive to the Serengeti National Park, which is one of the best game parks in Africa, after breakfast. As you drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on your way to the Serengeti, you will start to get a sense of how big this area is. You will also be amazed by how many animals and birds live in this acacia-dotted savannah.
You can visit a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro Highlands, where you will meet the Elders, Warriors, women, and children and learn about the culture, beliefs, and traditions of Tanzania’s last nomadic tribe.
The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Serengeti is a place to visit all year long, and each season has its own special thing to see. The most famous of these is the annual wildebeest migration, which only happens once. You will game drive on the way to the Serengeti, where you will have a half-day game drive.
Overnight; into wild African camp/embalakai tented camp
On a game drive that lasts all day, you will explore more of the famous Serengeti today.
Overnight:into Wild African Camp/Embalakai Tented Camp
On the Serengeti, this whole day is set aside for game drives. The Serengeti is home to a lot of animals, like impala, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it is best known for the large herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest that move through it. The animals move based on how much rain there is, which changes from year to year. In November and December, animals move from the north, where there are mostly forests and hills, to the south, where there are grassy plains. From April to June, when it rains more, they go back to the north. Aside from the herds that move, we might also get to see leopards, cheetahs, and lions, which live there, doing their part in the circle of life.
After a day we’ll never forget, we’ll go back to our accommodations to rest, eat, and sleep on The Endless Plain.
Accommodation
Budget Camping: Nyani Campsite
After breakfast, our Mangokili Adventures professional Tanzania safari tour guide will pick you up at your hotel with your driver and take you to Tarangire National Park. It will take about two hours to get there. This nature reserve is really cool because it has big baobab trees, bush savannah, and marshes that dry up for part of the year. People say that Tarangire National Park is one of the best places to get close to elephants. The Park is also home to buffalo, zebras, and wildebeests. Lions and leopards are always nearby, but cheetahs aren’t seen very often in this area. From the open roof of your safari car, you’ll have a great view of the landscape and animals. You will have a picnic lunch with a view of the Tarangire River and go on a game drive in the afternoon before going to your accommodations, which are inside the park. In the late afternoon, you will go back to Arusha for your last night.
Overnight: Outpost Lodge in Arusha
Depending on what you want to do, our driver will be ready to take you to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar or your flight home.
